Customer Service FAQ

Conn. Clocks and Time FAQ'S
- {What will it cost to repair my
Clock?}
- {It is impossible to give an accurate Estimate of the cost
of repairing your clock, without thoroughly checking your clock out first. But
in General we would estimate $100 to $140 for the average clock.}
- {How long will it take to repair my
clock?}
- {As an Average, we have a three week turnover, if no major
repairs or parts are needed, the clocks movement is dismantled, cleaned, and
reassembled in about 3 days.
It is then bench tested for 3 days before
being reinstalled inside its case. Then we run it for an additional 7 days,
prior to giving it back to you.}
- {Is your work Guaranteed?}
- {All of our Repair work is Guaranteed, but only the actual
repairs we perform is covered. Our Repair work is Guaranteed for One Full Year
(Springs not Included).
- {How accurate is my
Appraisal?}
- {Appraisal prices are taken from the most current price
guide available, these prices are set by Collectors, Dealers, and NAWCC
Members, for Original Condition Clocks, and vary according to different area's
of the country. As a consequence, the Company assumes no Responsibility for any
losses that might incur as a result of an Appraisal price.}
Clock FAQ'S
- {Is my clock old?}
- {Many people honestly believe that their clock is much older
than it really is. There is no harm in this, but a more accurate estimate of
age can actually enhance the pleasure one derives from the certainty of his
Knowledge.}
- {Is my clock a true
Antique?}
- {A true "Antique Clock" is at least 100 years old, and is in
its Original Condition. Many clocks over the years have gone thru what we call
a "Marriage" (parts taken from one clock to form another), this takes away from
its monetary value, but not it's Antique value.}
Clock MYTH'S
- {My clock only needs a cleaning and
oiling.}
- {Most clocks need a re-oiling every 2 years, and a cleaning
every 5 years. Clocks left to run 3-5 years without a re-oiling will almost
invariably show signs of wear on the pivots and bushings, causing the clock to
stop.}
- {My clock is just
overwound.}
- {Unless the coils in your clocks mainsprings are rusted or
corroded together, over winding will never stop a clock. Although, over winding
can cause premature breakage of the main springs.}
- {My clock cannot be
repaired.}
- {Any clock can always be repaired, but if replacement parts
are not available, then they have to be custom-made. In this case it would cost
more to repair the clock, than what the clock is actually worth.}
